I’m Audrey, owner and operator of AOK.
I believe that our living space is deeply important to our well-being. From the tender age of seven, I had a clear grasp on the way my surroundings affected me. When my kid-self felt overwhelmed or out of control, I would take everything out of my room, clean every inch it, and then only put back what I wanted. Once my room felt clean and free of clutter, my unresolved feelings got much easier to sort out. That intuitive understanding of the importance of intentional space has shaped my life into adulthood. AOK is born from the desire to share with others the sense of ease that comes from a well-tended, thoughtful living space.
Cheers to my dad’s dad and my mom’s mom for teaching me how to properly clean a house. Thanks for teaching my adolescent self how to care for things —I am forever grateful and inspired by you both. And to my mom and dad, you gave me a creative freedom that one usually doesn’t discover until their 30’s. I can’t believe how good you are. I love you.

We believe in beauty. We believe that noticing beauty is where cleaning, design, and organization begin. We believe in good morning (and midday and afternoon and evening) light. We believe in elevating beauty: polishing a light fixture, leaving flowers on the table, finding the perfect container for a closet shelf. We believe in celebrating beauty.

We believe in communication. We believe it’s a two-way street that makes everyone’s lives easier. That expectations should be clear and clearly met.
Communication
We believe in not being wasteful. We believe in only buying what is necessary. We believe in paper towels where paper towels are called for, and reusable towels for everything else. We believe in using what’s in front of us. We believe that new isn’t always the answer. We believe in ingenuity.
Reduce/Reuse
We believe in awareness. We believe in getting to know you and your space, so you feel seen as well as clean. We believe in taking deep breaths. We believe in working with the space in front of us. We believe in staying in budget. We believe in knowing and meeting your goals.
Awareness
We believe in giving close attention. We believe in cleaning the rims of toilet bowls with q-tips. We believe in misting rooms with (natural, delicious) room spray. We believe in making sure everything has a purpose and is actually functional for your daily life. We believe you should feel at ease when you enter your home.
